Family Fun Activities at Hillcrest Merimbula

When you can’t pin down just one activity for the day, take the family to Top Fun where you can enjoy half a dozen different experiences in the same location! Play the 18-hole mini golf course , test your skills at laser tag, face off on 40 different video and arcade games, or team up and play Ten Pin Bowling.

Looking to make some furry friends? Potoroo Palace is an engaging native animal sanctuary just 10 minutes from Merimbula, where kids can meet a koala, wander among the kangaroos, touch a snake, spot a bird or feed an emu. And keep the munchies at bay with a snack or lunch at Blue Wren Café, or make use of the BBQs and picnic facilities inside the park.

With Tiny Zoo, the animals come to you! Dubbed the Zoo on Wheels, Tiny Zoo connects you with a qualified and experienced zookeeper for a rare 30-minute animal encounter with two critters. Kids can touch or hold the animal, pending they’re all behaving themselves!

Just a few minutes drive from Hillcrest Merimbula is Magic Mountain, a family fun park packed with entertainment and activities promising to deliver a fun day out. Choose between waterslides, a maze, mini golf, grand prix cars, a jumping castle, toboggan track, rollercoaster and a toddler pool playground area. Take a break under a shady tree on the park’s sprawling lawns with BBQ and picnic facilities or have lunch at the Magic Mountain Cafe.

Perched on the waterfront is the popular Merimbula Aquarium, featuring a 70,000 litre Oceanarium with 28 tanks filled with local and tropical marine life of all kinds. Catch them at feeding time and afterwards head upstairs for a bite to eat at the iconic Wharf Restaurant.

Take the kids to one of Merimbula’s many outdoor playgrounds, dotted around the coast. A few of our favourites include Ford Park Playground, the perfect spot to enjoy some fish and chips and watch the hours go by while the kids play (and if it’s warm enough you can finish the afternoon with a dip at Merimbula Main Beach). We also love the playground at Spencer Park at the edge of Merimbula Lake, where you’ll also find picnic and BBQ facilities, shallow waters to swim in and walking tracks up through Rotary Park and onto Bar Beach.
