Experience the thrill of the Sapphire Coast's adventure tourism hub, as the WinterSun Festival takes centre stage in the beautiful town of Merimbula. Over the course of three days, immerse yourself in the festivities that embrace the winter season.
WINTERSUN DESIGN EXHIBITION, HILLCREST MERIMBULA

Reimagined 70s classic, Hillcrest Motel Merimbula will showcase the town in all it’s retro glory, with an exhibition of original vintage photos, stories and memorabilia. The exhibition is open Saturday-Monday over the long weekend from 12-4pm each day.

While we prepare for the exciting Jetty to Jetty event, an amazing opportunity awaits you and your beloved canine companion to showcase your water-related talents. Get ready to make a splash! There are fantastic rewards up for grabs, including prizes for the most impressive outfits, jaw-dropping tricks, and, of course, the most adorable pup in town!

Are you ready to dive into the exhilarating WinterSun Salty Swim? Get ready to compete for amazing prizes and earn the well-deserved bragging rights of being a participant! Join the courageous and adventurous souls as you take on the 100-meter splash n' dash from the spit to the iconic Mitchies Jetty.
This event promises a delightful blend of excitement and relaxation. Enjoy the refreshing atmosphere and join us for a fantastic time! After the swim, warm yourself up with scrumptious coffee and pastries from the talented crew at Mitchies Espresso Bar. Alternatively, treat yourself to a delightful BBQ breakfast provided by Merimbula's Marine Rescue.
JETTY to jetty lake swim

Prepare yourself for an even more daring and invigorating cold water adventure in 2023! Join us for the second edition of the WinterSun Jetty to Jetty Lake Swim.
Immerse yourself in the excitement of the Jetty to Jetty, a challenging 1.2km competitive lake swim that takes you from Mitchies Jetty to Spencer Park Jetty and back. The swim will commence at 10.50am, with registrations and check-ins starting at 8.30am.
By participating in this incredible event, you'll not only test your swimming skills but also contribute to the local community. A portion of your registration fee will be generously donated to support two remarkable local clubs, the Pambula Surf Lifesaving Club and Marine Rescue Merimbula. Join us for an unforgettable experience while making a positive impact in the process!
STREETFEST ON MARKET

Live music from early afternoon to 6.30pm, showcasing the toast of the coast and surrounds. Groove away the afternoon with food, beverage and festive vibes as local legends, Longstocking Brewery pump out the brews alongside another local icon, North of Eden Gin. Food is taken care of with delicious hot fresh pizza from Sapphire Coast Eats and bbq delights from Southtown Smokehouse.
WINTERSUN WHARF TO WHARF CHALLENGE
7am, Sunday JUNE 11
Price: $89 per person.
Embark on a remarkable journey through history with the Wharf to Wharf Walk, as you traverse the ancient lands of the Yuin people between two historic wharves on the Sapphire Coast.
In 2023, we are offering both RUN and WALK categories for participants. The runners will kick off their journey at the break of dawn, precisely at 7:09am, departing from Tathra Wharf. The walkers will follow suit shortly after, starting at 7:20am. Please indicate your preferred category when filling out the booking form.
This walk is a celebration of the awe-inspiring beauty of our coastal region, encompassing rugged cliffs, breathtaking headlands, secluded bays, and expansive, pristine beaches. However, there won't be much time for stillness and contemplation, as this is a challenge designed for the bold-hearted. Sapphire Coast Guiding Co will set the course, provide maps, markers, and perhaps a touch of moral support. However, for the most part, you and your companions will rely on your own determination as you traverse the trail.
Commence your adventure at the historic Tathra Wharf and aim to complete this 27km journey by 2:30pm. Those who cross the finish line first will have the chance to win fantastic prizes. Lace up your shoes, embrace the challenge, and immerse yourself in this unforgettable experience.
